Candle Care & FAQ's
Five Tips from The Rajputs & Co.!
Tilt your candle at an angle when lighting it with a multipurpose lighter! (preferably)
Light the rim of the wick in a circular motion, three times to let the wax soften!
Let the flame start at the tip of the BOTTOM of the wax from one end of the wood wick to the other and let it draw across the candle.
Once your flame pool has reached all around the candle within the first three hours it allows the candle not to tunnel.
When your flame is low, flick off the charred bits with a fork or a butter knife carefully to get a higher flame or to keep the flame going. (When you come back to your candle it is best to remove the charred bits by pitching it off with your fingers when it's cooled down before lighting it)
& REMEMBER! ENJOY YOUR NON-TOXIC CANDLE! It takes some adjustment to go from a toxic candle with a toxic wick to a NON-TOXIC candle and WOODEN WICK but practice makes perfect!!
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
What is "Wood Wick" & “BeesWax”?
The Rajputs & Co., uses beeswax candles that allow for a cleaner air with smoke-free burn by using our wood wicks! The Beeswax that we use acts as a natural air purifier. When beeswax is burned it releases negative ions which can attach to positive ions found in many air pollutants like dust, pollen, order, and toxins neutralizing them. This process can help alleviate allergies and asthma. The wood wicks also give a nice wooden crackle as it is burning!
Why is my flame so small?
The best way to prevent this from happening is to let your flame develop a fully melted wax pool that reaches the edges of the jar. Wood wicks are not known for high flames to keep a nice and safe environment! Overall wooden wicks run lower for the smoother aroma to get released gradually and evenly allowing a longer-lasting candle!
What are the pros of wood wicks?
Wooden wicks provide a clean burn, which doesn't shrink like traditional toxic wicks do! They provide minimal carbon, soot, and debris buildup, which helps in purifying your environment! Just remember to trim off charred wood from previous flames or to get a "higher" flame!
What are the cons of wood wicks?
They usually take a bit longer to light up but good things take time! (Due to the wick being thicker, denser, and cleaner for you!) With enough practice, you'll get it in no time! Another thing is they're more expensive!
How can I prevent a hole from forming in the candle as it burns?
To prevent tunneling and ensure an even burn, make sure to let the candle burn long enough during each use so that the melted wax reaches the edges of the container. This allows the wick to burn evenly across the surface, avoiding holes and relighting problems.

Why is my flame so high?
To lower the flame, trim the wick after it has built up some residue. Use the lid or our Candle Utensil Kit to properly extinguish the flame. Never use water or anything else to put out the flame
How do I trim a wood wick?
The Rajputs & Co, always recommends our wick trimmer utensil kit! If you do not have one it is highly recommended to get one, but if not. When the wood wick is fully off with cool down time, ensure it is not hot. Preferably within 24 hours of the flame being off, tilt over your candle and pinch off the remainder of the residue on the tip of the wood wick, to get a nice clean burn again!
